BIOHACKING

Biohacking can be described as citizen or do-it-yourself biology. For many “biohackers”, this consists of making from small to large incremental diet or lifestyle changes to make small to very significant improvements in the health and wellbeing. Biohacking is the process of using science, biology, and self-experimentation to take control of and upgrade your body, mind, and life, says Dave Asprey, founder and CEO of Bulletproof.

Types of Biohacking
Biohacking comes in various forms. The most popular styles are nutrigenomics, DIY Biology, and grinder.
  • The Nutrigenomics:
Nutrigenomics is based on the concept that whatever food you eat interacts and affects your genes. This concept of biohacking focuses on how the body’s genetic composition can be altered and optimized by eating the right foods.
  • DIY Biology:
DIY Biology entails performing expert-approved biological procedures to optimize the body.
  • Quantified-self:
Quantified Self is a biohacking concept that focuses on self-knowledge and self-improvement by using self-tracking.
Quantified Self uses people’s data from their behaviors and lifestyles compared with quantifiable data from physiological processes.
  • Physiological Biohackers:
Physiological biohacking entails altering the physical parameters of the environment to achieve desired results. Physiological biohackers optimize their body by changing sleep patterns, eating differently, or modifying oxygen and water intake.
